The insightful panel includes Linda Simensky, Vice President of Children's Programing for PBS; Stephanie Aaronson, Vice President for Education & Community with the Corporation for Public Broadcasting; Jorge Aguirre, a writer and producer with Disney; and Kevin Clarke with the George Mason Center for Digital Media Innovation & Diversity.
The panel is part of the 2014 Media Summit being put on by the National Association of Latino Independent Producers, an organization that I'm honored to serve as co-chair of. We've also got you a great rate for the ENTIRE conference, if you are interested in staying for the rest of the conference.
Please RSVP to Luis@NALIP.org for the free registration. You must sign up in advance and seating is limited. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this panel. I look forward to seeing you there.
Thanks,
Kirk Whisler

Award Winning Author Tour
This is an ambitious new program that we are introducing this year to help promote all the quality Latino books that have been produced. We will have a booth or display of this year's Int'l Latino Book Award Finalists. For some of the events we will be able to have authors there to sell and sign there books, and for others it will be more a display to get across the importance of books for the Latino community.
For each of these events the transportation to the event and hotel rooms at the event are the responsibility of the participating author. If there is a registration fee to be in the Exhibit Area we will note it here. These opportunities are for AUTHORS, not for publishers. Kirk is the primary contact for all events listed below unless otherwise noted.

AWA
We are encouraging all you winning authors to start using the honorific title of AWA after your name. You have earned that title by being a Finalists in the Int'l Latino Book Awards. Since many people do not yet know what AWA stands for it is a great conversation starter - and will lead you to talk about your Award Winning Book and about the awards in general. Here's how it would look: José Avalos, AWA.
Please let me know your thoughts,
Kirk

Award Winning Author Logo
We are working very hard to make the Int'l Latino Book Awards' Award Winning Author logo the GOLD symbol for books published for Latinos. We will be promoting the logo at a wide variety of events and via media nationwide and throughout Latin America.
The logo is to be used in association with books that have earned a First Place, Second Place, or Honorable Mention (all our Finalists will have earned one of these designations) in any of the International Latino Book Awards competitions that we have held since the Awards were founded in the 1990's. Common places to place the logo are on the book's cover, title page, and back cover.
The logo may NOT be used on books that have not won any of the awards describes above. It may be used on reprints of the above winning books, but NOT on new editions of these books.
You can also use the term "Award Winning Author" in your press releases, cover descriptions, etc.
We also have Award Winning Author stickers that are Gold and maroon and are 1-5/8" across.
Here's the pricing:
1,000 $245
500 $170
200 $80
100 $50
Prices include shipping and handling. Let us know how many you want.
The more we all use the Int'l Latino Book Awards'
Award Winning Author logo the more we all are promoting quality books for Latinos.
